Nolan Horbach

Head Coach & General Manager

The Battlefords AAA Sharks are proud to announce the continued leadership of Nolan Horbach as Head Coach and General Manager.

Nolan brings a strong background in high-performance female hockey, including five seasons as Assistant Coach with the University of Saskatchewan Women’s Huskies and two seasons as Head Coach of Team Saskatchewan U18 Female. In 2019, he led Team Saskatchewan to its first-ever medal, earning silver at the Hockey Canada National Women’s U18 Championship.

Since taking over the Sharks in 2023–24, Nolan has guided the program to new heights—setting a franchise record for wins in his first season. In 2024–25, the team posted a 23-3-2-2 record and captured the first regular-season first-place finish in team history.

He is also the Founder and Director of Mind Body Hockey in Saskatoon, a performance centre focused on skill development, cognitive training, and mental performance for athletes.

Nolan is deeply committed to long-term athlete development. Under his leadership, Sharks players are advancing to post-secondary hockey opportunities, earning scholarships and roster spots at colleges and universities across North America. His athlete-first approach blends high standards with strong relationships, developing confident, competitive, and resilient student-athletes on and off the ice.

Nathan Wolter

Assistant Coach & Assistant General Manager

Nathan Wolter joins the Sharks for his second season. With experience in various minor hockey roles, including recent scouting and coaching experience with Hockey Saskatchewan’s Sask First program, Nathan is committed to ensuring the girls have everything looked after to perform at their best.

Morgan Fraser

Sharks alum Morgan Fraser joins the staff as an assistant coach, bringing experience from her playing career with the Sharks and two seasons in Red Deer. She is passionate about supporting the development of female athletes and serving as a strong role model for the next generation of Sharks.

Joel Gryzbowski

Goaltending Coach
Joel brings a strong playing and development background to the Sharks’ goaltending program, having played at both the SJHL and WHL levels, including time with the North Battleford Stars (SJHL) and in the Western Hockey League. Joel is committed to an athlete-first development approach. His focus is on building confident, technically sound, and mentally resilient goaltenders by emphasizing fundamentals, game awareness, and personal growth.
