The Battleford’s U18 Female AAA Sharks are accepting applications from interested candidates in all Hockey Operations positions:
- Head Coach
- Assistant Coach
- Video Coach
- Physical Therapist
- Equipment Manager
- Manager
- Game Day Operations
The successful candidates will share our mission to provide High-Performance Hockey Programming to young female student-athletes.
Roles and Duties include:
Coaching: practice planning, including day-to-day organization, communication, and instruction; game preparation including game day execution, scouting, video analysis, and organization of team travel
Recruiting: talent identification and evaluation, and correspondence
Student-athlete development: mentoring to include individual and team dynamics, team rules and conduct, leadership development, commitment to safety and well-being of student-athletes; academic monitoring of student-athletes
Public relations: occasional media and speaking engagements, contact with alumni and supporters, effective professional working relationships with student-athletes, staff, administration, alumni, and the general public, engagement with youth through camps/clinics and community service
Fundraising: develop community support for the program, engage in Organization events, and assist with fundraising activities including special events and camps/clinics
Required Qualifications (Head Coach)
- Hockey Canada: Development 1 (with the ability to acquire High Performance 1)
- Progressive coaching and/or playing experience
- Evidence of strong interpersonal skills and effective communication orally and in writing
- Evidence of a valid driver’s license, or ability to acquire a legal driver’s license or qualify for a reasonable accommodation
- Commitment to the academic success of student-athletes
- Evidence of ability to teach and work with persons from diverse backgrounds
- The appointment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications (Head Coach)
- Hockey Canada: High Performance 1
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated experience coaching with at least 5 years of progressive experience
- Experience with, contacts for, and knowledge of post-secondary recruiting
- Familiarity with recruiting and scouting software
- Familiarity with strength and conditioning philosophy and applied techniques
